After the farm project got off to a good start, we started thinking of another tangible investment in Francistown. There was some church land that was bought by Bishop Schmidt of Bulawayo Vicariate. A committee was set up by the Bishop to advise him on how best to utilize that property in town. After many meetings and discussions numerous suggestions were made. A majority of the Development Committee favored the development of the property into a block of flats.

Funds were mobilized and loans negotiated to enable us commerce work on the project. This was after the architects had completed their work and the necessary permits were obtained from the City Council for construction to begin. The process of tendering to get the contractor was undertaken; finally Zebra Construction won the tender. Mr. Aristerik Urio is the Catholic owner of the construction company that built the house. It took one and a half years to complete the building.

Today the Catholic Church of the Vicariate of Francistown is the proud owner of the three storey building on Khama Street known as Tumelo Court. It has nine three bedroom units and 18 two bedroom units. The flats were blessed and commissioned in October 2006 by Bishop Boniface Setlalekgosi of Gaborone diocese in the absence of our bishop who was in hospital in Germany for a knee surgery.

Our vision is to be a self supporting church in terms of our ordinary daily expenditure of the local church. We look forward to the day when we can provide for the ordinary needs of the Sisters and Priests who minister in the local church.
